Frist-No Backbone!

Frist Says We Can't Win, Should Bring Taliban Into Afghan Government

This a Republican?  Head of the Senate majority? Possible candidate for Republican nomination? No back-bone Bill!

How can someone recommend that a gang of fanatical killers be brought into the government?  Where did this defeatist attitude come from?  I could go on and list several pages of the reasons that the Taliban should be hunted down like wild dogs and killed.  I am getting quite worried about some of our Republicans.

Academia Out of the Mainstream

In several of my posts, I have alluded to the fact that American Universities have been turning out students of Marxism and Socialism for many, many years.  Their view is that to be a conscious, productive member of society…one must be a Socialist.  This viewpoint has never been more vividly illustrated than the events occurring in our society right now.  In my view, it is sickening and very dangerous.

The following excerpts (story here) is a good example of the magnitude as well as the length of time that this phenomenon has been around.

In May 1934, the Harvard administration played host to Nazi Germany’s U.S. ambassador, Hans Luther. He visited Harvard’s Germanic Museum and Widener Library. The following month, Harvard president James Conant rolled out the red carpet for Hitler’s foreign press chief, Ernst “Putzi” Hanfstangl. A graduate of the class of 1909, Hanfstangl came for the June 1934 commencement and his 25-year class reunion. He had been a close ally of Hitler’s since the early 1920s, and in his new position was responsible for spreading Nazi propaganda abroad.

Three years later, the Columbia administration announced it would send a delegate to Nazi Germany to take part in the 550th anniversary celebration of the University of Heidelberg. (Harvard did likewise.) This, despite the fact that Heidelberg already had been purged of Jewish faculty members, instituted a Nazi curriculum and hosted a burning of books by Jewish authors.

“Academic relationships have no political implications,” announced the President of Columbia.  (A great part of the Big Lie strategy)

Universities are uniquely positioned to shape public attitudes. As the pillars of America’s educational system, they are looked upon as exemplars for our society. But what example did they set in the 1930s, by hosting officials of the Hitler regime and expelling a student for the "crime" of leading an anti-Nazi rally? What message do they send today by welcoming leaders of a regime that sponsors international terrorism and threatens to annihilate five million Israeli Jews?

As it happens, President Ahmadinejhad will not speak at Columbia, but for the wrong reason. He was originally invited by the dean of Columbia’s School of International Affairs, Lisa Anderson, to speak as part of the University’s “World Leaders Forum.” Following protests, university president Lee Bollinger told Anderson that Ahmadinejad should speak at the School of International Affairs itself rather than at the university-wide forum. Anderson, for her part, said the logistical and security requirements for the visit were too complicated to resolve on short notice. Unfortunately, neither Bollinger nor Anderson acknowledged any moral problem with inviting the Iranian president.

Democratic Attacks Approaching Absurdity

The malicious Democratic campaign against Rumsfelt, the President and the war ...abetted by the anti-war left in the press is reaching a fever pitch.  Two books a day it seems (the Post's Karen DeYoung joins Woodward with another political illiterate screed against the Administration.) The fact is that the left's solution to present difficulties in Iraq is to deliver Irag to Iran. The Democrats' anti-war arguments are as sickening as they are absurd: We create the terrorists. If only America would stop its aggressions, the problem of the Islamic jihad would diminish accordingly.  Absurdity two: if only America left Irag and focused on killing Osama bin Laden, the Islamic jihad would be over.  The war we are in is not a war with a gang, which will be demoralized by the loss of its leader.  Dead leaders make martyrs...precisely what our enemies aspire to.  By the left's logic we should stop killing them, because it only encourages them. Our enemies are engaged in a religious crusade.  Winning the war is going to require a long, hard struggle. The weak and the cowardly are going to counsel appeasement and retreat all along the way.  Those who attack us from within without offering a constructive policy for winning are sabotaging the war.  There is not one single Democrat who has a plan to prosecute the war more effectively.  That screams more than I want to know about their integrity.

Bottom line: This war will be won or lost on the battlefront at home...and right now the Democratic Party is a big part of the problem.

Integrity Vs. Dishonesty

House Speaker Dennis Hastert requested Sunday that the Justice Department conduct an investigation (story here) into former Rep. Mark Foley's electronic messages to teenage boys — a lurid scandal that has put House Republicans in political peril.

"As Speaker of the House, I hereby request that the Department of Justice conduct an investigation of Mr. Foley's conduct with current and former House pages to determine to what extent any of his actions violated federal law."

Republican leadership is rushing in to indict and investigate one of their own...Democrats are circling around like sharks when blood is in the water.  When Republicans commit a wrong, the leadership rushes in to right the wrong.

Compare that to Democrats when one of theirs commits a sin...Democratic leadership  rushes to  the nearest media  to deny it  and suggests a conspiracy by the Republicans.

The Ten Contradictions

The inevitable has occurred, with all the attacks on the Christian faith coming from the left…the Ten Commandments is being replaced by the Ten Contradictions.  These, of course are intended to be all-inclusive so as not to offend anyone.

THE TEN CONTRADICTIONS

 1. If you call our religion violent, we will clobber you.

 2. Our founder was gentle as a lamb, but we find brute force to be generally preferable as a tool of policy.

 3. All science is bunk, unless we find a study which helps us make our point, in which case you should respect science's irrefutable objectivity.

  4. Our religion is the unique, exclusive pathway to truth, but we're most comfortable    hanging around with people from outside our religion who share our political views.

  5. Our faith is the only reasonable faith, but given that most people are not       reasonable we will need to suppress free speech.

  6. The contradictions in the scriptures of other religions prove their falsehood, but the contradictions in our scriptures can easily be ascribed to paradox, nuance and complexity.

   7. You can be confident that our gods will never fail to protect you, unless they choose not to.

    8. Faith in our gods will give you new life and a powerful assurance of eternal              security, but don't squander the therapy fund on a new car just yet.

9 We condemn all lapses on the part of newer religions that we were guilty of when we were their age.

10 Our scriptures must be taken as a serious and unyielding moral code, except for all that complaining about materialism.

Jimmah-A National Embarrassment

Jimma Cahtah "says he's deeply embarrassed that the American government now stands convicted around the world as one of the greatest abusers of civil rights". He continued the theme in a dinner speech to 700 at a Democratic fundraiser tonight for his son running for election in Nevada.  Convicted by whom? You? Ahmajinejad, Hugo Chavez? The thug leader of Bolivia?

You are the embarassment of this country Jimmah...inviting the previous leader of Iran to spread his fanaticism in the U.S. and your recent interview with "Der Spiegel" which bordered on treason.

You, along with Slick Willie...have violated the standing tradition of not commenting on the actions of sitting Presidents and clearly manifests the depths to which the left has sunk to win an election.

Deception-A Useful and Dangerous Tool

Does anyone know or can guess what very well known man made these quotes?  Does it remind you of political activities currently being used today?

"The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are intentionally bad."

"Success is the sole earthly judge of right and wrong."

"Only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on the memory of the crowd."

"I am a democrat."

Answer will be posted tomorrow.

Fear & Trust

"Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties: (Liberals)  1. Those who fear and distrust the people and wish to draw all powers from them into the hands of the higher classes. (Conservatives)  2. Those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them.... In every country these two parties exist.…(Emphasis Mine)

Letter To A Senator

A letter sent to a Senator:

The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes
309 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington DC, 20510

Dear Senator Sarbanes:
As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Immigration and Naturalization Service in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My reasons for wishing to change my status from U.S. citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, what I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years.

I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.
Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year, so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of the last five years taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively?
This would yield an excellent return for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005 and I estimated a gross savings approximating $72,000. After the fine this would yield me a net savings of $70,000.

In addition, I would reap the other benefits of being an illegal alien such as free health care, avoidance of paying Social Security taxes, buying automobile insurance, serving on jury panels, etc. If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative.

Thank you for your assistance.
Your Loyal Constituent

Liberals & Christianity

Lately, there have been comments coming from the Left concerning reaching out to Christians.  Nancy Pelosi tried  to quote the Golden Rule and got it wrong. It is only an election ploy coming from people that don’t believe in God and by their actions and words, display it constantly.  It prompts me to make some salient points.

From an intellectual viewpoint, there is no inherent conflict between religion and science. Trouble comes from the efforts of atheistic materialists to hijack science.

Religion is obviously no impediment to scientific study of the natural world since all of the 17th century's groundbreaking discoveries and applications of mathematics to the natural world were the work of devout Christians.

In the 17th century, when natural science emerged as a new paradigm, religion and science were understood to be equally valid ways to study God's creation. The laws of mathematics and natural science had, after all, been created by God as part of the whole universe. The emerging paradigm of scientific experimentation was not conceived by seminal thinkers like Francis Bacon as replacing religion and classical philosophy. The physical sciences were, instead, to be a supplemental method to determine the nature of the physical world.

Religion, and the closely related field of classical Greek philosophy, are concerned with ultimate questions: who are we? whence came we? whither shall we go? why do humans uniquely among God's creatures construct political societies? what is the highest aim or purpose of humans and political society? how may we best attain them

Science seeks to answer more immediate questions: how do things in the material world work? In physics, the sub-field of cosmology deals with the structure, origin, and natural laws of the whole universe. The best known cosmological hypothesis is the Big Bang, in which the universe and time as we know it commenced with the explosion of unimaginably dense matter in a colossal release of energy at the sub-atomic level.

The Big Bang requires that all of the laws of physics, mathematics, and chemistry be in existence prior to the Big Bang. This means, inescapably, that God existed outside of time and outside of the universe, and that the Mind of God is the source of all the natural laws and mathematics that form the subject matter of the physical sciences. Matter being just another form of energy, God is also the source of everything that scientists study to understand the laws of nature.

Thus, when atheistic materialists, aka socialists and liberals, denounce religion and Greek philosophy as ignorant superstition, they are sinking their own canoe.

From the standpoint of atheistic and materialistic liberals, however, it is necessary first to destroy Western civilization's paradigm of religious morality if they are to replace it with atheistic materialism. Hence the unending assaults by the ACLU and other socialist organizations.

Iran & EU Negotiations Is a Joke

This speaks volumes about the futility of the EU appeasement efforts.

Ahmadinejad: Iran won't halt uranium enrichment even for a day.

Ahmadinejad spoke after top Iranian and European negotiators ended their latest round of talks in Berlin, saying they had "come to some positive conclusions" but failed to reach an agreement.

"They asked for even just a one-day halt (of uranium enrichment). We said we won't do it," Ahmadinejad told thousands of people Thursday in Karaj, west of the capital, Tehran.
